The ABC Initiative

Africa is acutely vulnerable to the effects of global climate change. The Kyoto Protocol of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) introduced market-based emissions control mechanisms that led to the creation of the global carbon market. This market is today worth tens of billions of dollars, but relatively few of these dollars have reached Africa.
