Lesotho – Orphans of Malealea
UNESCO in Lesotho supports a project for orphans in the village of Malealea, which is based on a previous German initiative to ensure the survival of children and their grandparents, promoting school attendance wherever possible.

In the small, impoverished kingdom of Lesotho the AIDS epidemic, coupled with the emigration of able-bodied men, has depopulated entire regions and deprived innumerable children of parental care.
