First Sub-regional Conference of the African Coalition of Cities against Racism and Discrimination
 
This conference will take place from 26 to 27 March 2009.

Following its inaugural and set-up conference in Nairobi during the Africities summit in September 2006, the Coalition of African Cities against Racism and Discrimination is holding its first general gathering in the city of Durban.

Given the difficulties faced by many municipalities, it was decided that this first event will concentrate in the Southern Africa subregion, where infrastructure for and interest in the Coalition is strongest, with the hope that the positive results will make it possible to extend this to the rest of the continent in the future.
