UNESCO, in partnership with the Government of Angola, will organized the fourth meeting of the International Scientific Committee for the elaboration of Volume IX of the General History of Africa in Luanda (Angola), from 15 to 20 February 2016.
The main objective of the meeting is to examine and validate the contributions received so far from the authors and to discuss the way forward for the work of the Scientific Committee.
The meeting will also provide an opportunity for the Members of the Committee to exchange with Angolan decision-makers of the Ministry of Science and Technology, and with Angolan scholars, representatives of civil society and journalists on the various challenges of the General History of Africa and, in particular, those raised by the drafting of Volume IX.
