Secretariat

The Secretariat is called the administrator of the MOW Fund and is provided by the Information Society Division of UNESCO

The Director-General or his/her representative shall participate in the work of the International Advisory Committee (IAC), the Bureau, and other subsidiary bodies without the right to vote. He or she may submit the statements (oral or written) on any matter in the course of this participation.

The functions of the Secretariat include provision of support services to the IAC and its subsidiary bodies while helping the general administration and monitoring of the Programme. In addition, the maintenance of the Memory of the World Register, the oversight of the Memory of the World Fund, and other tasks directed by the IAC should be included. The Secretariat plays a role of the focal point for all matters concerning the Memory of the World.
