Mark Chang


Mark Chang
teaches at Showa Women’s University in Tokyo, Japan. Trained in economics, he has been involved in collaborative projects between Japan and Viet Nam in conserving cultural heritage in Viet Nam, particularly in the UNESCO World Heritage town of Hoi An. He participated in two projects, the Hoi An Town Preservation Cooperation Project and the Vietnamese Traditional Folkhouses, which received UNESCO Asia-Pacifi c Heritage Awards in 2000 and 2004, respectively. In 2005, Professor Chang was recognized with a Viet Nam Ministry of Culture and Information medal for distinguished service in the field of cultural heritage.
