William Chapman


Dr William Chapman
is the Director of the Graduate Programe in Historic Preservation at the University of Hawaii, Manoa, and a frequent conservation consultant in the Asia-Pacifi c region. His work has included training projects and assessments of heritage sites throughout the Pacifi c islands and mainland South-East Asia. Professor Chapman, who holds a DPhil in archaeology from Oxford University and an advanced degree in historic preservation from Columbia University in New York, is a frequent participant in international conferences. He has been a consultant to UNESCO in the traditional building crafts training project in Luang Prabang, Lao PDR and to the World Monuments Fund, particularly in their training initiatives in Cambodia. A four-time Fulbright Award holder, he is a regular lecturer at Silpakorn University’s International Programe in Heritage Management and Tourism.
