Secondary Teacher Policy Research in Asia
A series of regional comparative studies on secondary education teacher policy assesses how countries in Asia respond to the increasing demand of expanding access to quality secondary education. The series includes four country case studies and a regional synthesis:
- Secondary Education and Teacher Quality in the Republic of Korea
- Secondary Teachers in Lao PDR: Priorities and Prospects
- Towards Providing Quality Secondary Education: Training, Retaining Quality Teachers in Malaysia
- Secondary Teachers in Thailand, and
- Regional Synthesis -- Teacher Numbers, Teacher Quality: Lessons from Secondary Education in Asia.
The studies focus on opportunities and challenges related to secondary education teachers in different country contexts. The comparative studies provide an overview of secondary education development, policy issues related to quantitative aspects and quality of secondary teachers, and teacher compensation, as well as discussion on policy implications.
