UNESCO Portal to Recognised Higher Education Institutions
This portal offers access to on-line information on higher education institutions recognised or otherwise sanctioned by competent authorities in participating countries. It provides students, employers and other interested parties with access to authoritative and up-to-date information on the status of higher education institutions and quality assurance in the countries listed.

Asia-Pacific Quality Network (APQN)
APQN is a network of quality assurance agencies in Asia and the Pacific region. APQN helps build alliances between agencies and assists countries/territories that do not have a quality assurance agency of their own with the aim to enhance the quality of education in Asia and the Pacific region. You may find contact information to quality assurance agencies in the region in the ‘members’ section.

European Network of Information Centres (ENIC) and National Academic Recognition Information Centres (NARIC)
The ENIC-NARIC Network is a joint initiative of the European Commission, the Council of Europe and UNESCO/CEPES. The webpage provides up-to-date information on current issues in international academic and professional mobility and on procedures for the recognition of foreign qualifications for members of the public, interested organizations and National Information Centres and National Academic Recognition Centres alike.

Guidelines for Quality Provision in Cross-border Higher Education (full text PDF document)
Published in 2005, the Guidelines aim to support and encourage international cooperation and enhance the understanding of the importance of quality provision in cross-border higher education. The purposes of the Guidelines are to protect students and other stakeholders from low-quality provision and disreputable providers as well as to encourage the development of quality cross-border higher education that meets human, social, economic and cultural needs.

UNESCO-APQN Toolkit (full text PDF document)
Published in 2007, this Toolkit is designed to provide a reference tool in the development of regulatory frameworks for quality assurance in cross-border education, whether from a receiver or provider perspective. The Toolkit highlights important issues and considerations, different models of regulatory frameworks, the practical steps in setting up a framework and possible pitfalls drawn from the experience of some systems to date.

The International Mobility of Students in Asia and the Pacific
