Metasurvey on the effective use of ICT in education

To obtain an accurate picture of the current state of ICT use in education in Asia and the Pacific, UNESCO launched  the Metasurvey project. Under this project, existing ICT initiatives in education across the Asia-Pacific region were mapped and analyzed.

The objective was to obtain information both on existing ICT applications and on models that have proved to be effective or which have the potential to contribute substantially to achieving EFA goals. Information was also obtained on how these models can be adapted and improved for other contexts and countries.

The survey covered national ICT policy environments, teacher and facilitator training initiatives, and educational software, and identified opportunities for the utilization ICT to improve the reach and quality of education in the Asia-Pacific region.
