Objectives
General objectives of the project:
- Training of core training staff
- Supply of computers and other requirements.
Planning meeting objectives:
- Seeking commitment from the participating countries
- Identification of core staff who would participate in the professional development workshop to be held later in 2004. Three core staff to be identified including one leader in each of the fields of management, teacher training and curriculum.
- Identification of in-country contact points for the project.

Results
As a result of the meeting the following outcomes were achieved:
- Participants clearly understood the nature of the ICT in TVE project. They understood the contributions and commitments that each country would need to make to the project. All countries appeared to support continued participation in the project.
- Participants were provided with presentations about the nature and use of ICT in TVE. They appeared to leave the meeting with a greater understanding of the role of ICT in TVE, and the issues associated with implementation of ICT in TVE.
- Participants were provided with a presentation on Training Needs Analysis and a framework for conducting a Training Needs Analysis. Each country worked with this framework and developed the skills required to complete the analysis on return to their own country. Each country develop draft recommendations of

- Skills required.
- Delegates left the meeting with a clear understanding of the tasks that they were required to complete by the 27 February
- Identification of a contact person
- Send seven CVs with representatives of management, teacher training and curriculum for selection of the core group
- Completion of the Training Needs Analysis and development of a training plan
- Return of TVET surveys by 27 February.
