Promoting Inclusive Teacher Education: Advocacy Guides (Bangla)

The original Advocacy Guides in English has been adapted to the Bangladesh context, translated into Bangla and published in 2015 by the Institute of Education and Research (IER) at the University of Dhaka in collaboration with Plan International Bangladesh and the National Curriculum and Textbook Board (NCTB) with support of UNESCO Dhaka Office and UNESCO Bangkok Office. The adapted version in Bangla consists of three booklets; namely Policy, Curriculum and Materials, and Teaching-Learning Methods. The Guides were designed for anyone who wants to carry out advocacy work to bring about improvements in pre-service teacher education towards more inclusive education in Bangladesh. The Guides discuss challenges and barriers to inclusive education in different areas of teacher education and outline ideas for advocates to consider and adapt according to their specific contexts for effective advocacy towards more inclusive practices.
