Background:

The Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports (MoEYS) of Cambodia and the Korea Institute for Curriculum and Evaluation (KICE), supported by the Network on Education Quality Monitoring in the Asia Pacific (NEQMAP) Secretariat at UNESCO Bangkok, organized a capacity development workshop on “PISA for Development” (PISA-D) in Phnom Penh, Cambodia on 29 February – 1 March, 2016. Opened by the Honorable Minister of Education, Youth and Sports of Cambodia, H.E. Dr. Hang Chuon Naron, the workshop was attended by more than 80 participants including Cambodian officers from national and sub-national education departments. In addition, the workshop included delegates from several other countries of  the region including Bhutan, Lao PDR, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka, whose participation was facilitated by NEQMAP. The event provided a great opportunity for the participants to deepen their knowledge and understanding as well as exchange their experience and perspective with regard to PISA and PISA-D.
