Submission Process & Disclaimers

SUBMISSION PROCESS:

  • Kindly email your digital photograph(s) to ap.tvet(at)unesco.org with the subject: “Submission for TVET_Photo Competition_[your name]”
  • Please provide details such as full name, nationality, etc. and a short description of your photograph(s) by filling in this form, and send your photographs to us by 12 July 2015
  • The competition is open to everyone, amateur and professional photographers, in and outside the UN system.
  • The winner will be invited to present his/her photograph at the upcoming Asia-Pacific Conference on Education and Training (3-5 August 2015) to be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
  • The winner will be notified via email on 17 July 2015 and announced on the UNESCO Bangkok Office website thereafter.

 SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS:

  1.  Each entrant can submit up to three (3) high-resolution photographs 
  2.  Photographs should focus on the Asia-Pacific region;
  3.  The photographs must be named in the following format:

For example: Your name is Antony Chee Lee and you submit 2 photos. 

The file names should be:  ac-lee#1.jpeg, ac-lee#2.jpeg

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS:

  1. Each photo must be saved originally in Jpeg file format and must not be larger than 5 MB in size.
  2. Digital adjustments are only acceptable if limited to minor cleaning work, levels, curves, color, saturation and contrast work.
  3. photos larger than 5MB should be submitted by including a link to dropbox or other cloud service.

JUDGING:

Photographs are judged by the UNESCO panel and the decision will be based on the following criteria:

  1. Relevance to the theme, e.g. how closely the photograph aligns with the theme of technical and vocational education and training;
  2. Creativity: the artistic level of the photograph. 

Disclaimers:

COPYRIGHT: The entrant must be the sole author and owner of the copyright. Entrants must not infringe on the privacy rights, copyright or other rights of any other person. By entering your photograph into the competition, you grant UNESCO the non-commercial right to use your images in in its work. Entrants names with be credited on the photographs.   

AGREEMENT: At the time of entry, entrants are deemed to have read, understood and be in agreement with all rules and conditions. The organizer reserves the right to rule on any issue(s) not covered by these rules and disclaimers. In the event that an entrant should disagree with any decision made by the organizer, that entrant will have the right to withdraw his or her entry. All related expenses incurred shall be borne solely by the entrant. The organizers are not responsible for failure of receipt, loss or damage of any photographs entered in the competition.
