Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Polytechnic (PSA) is the 8th polytechnic established under the World Bank Fund in Malaysia. Located in Shah Alam, Selangor state, PSA was built on 112-acre land and has been recognized as one of the three premier polytechnics by the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia on 25th February 2010. (Two other polytechnics also recognized are Politeknik Ungku Omar, Ipoh and Politeknik Ibrahim Sultan, Johor.)  PSA specializes in technical studies with separate departments for engineering such as electrical, mechanical and civil engineering. Other academic departments include department of commerce, department of general studies and department of mathematics and computer sciences.

Situated in Shah Alam, the capital of Selangor state on a 32-acre plot of land, Shah Alam Vocational College (KVSA) was built on 26 June 1989 under an ADB project and was completed in September 1992. Starting off as a pioneer vocational college in 2012, KVSA now offers 5 programmes namely industrial machining technology, welding, database management, web application design, computer system management and networking, as well as business management. A four-year programme comprising pre-diploma and diploma courses gives basic skills, necessary theoretical knowledge and is supported by practical components aligned with the need of Malaysia to produce skilled and semi-skilled workers for the future.

Selayang Community College (KKSL) is one of the 45 community colleges in Malaysia which provide a wide range of quality Technical and Vocational Education Training (TVET) courses to all members of society.  Driven by its motto Creative, Dynamic and Inspirational, it is the only community college that offers further education in hospitality for deaf and otherwise disabled students. Administered by the Ministry of Education (MOE), it is a public higher education institution which provides an alternative path by offering courses to post-secondary students. Its main objective is to provide secondary school leavers and the local community with the opportunities to develop their potential and to achieve excellence through education and training. KKSL offers full-time certificate courses in fashion and interior design, multimedia animation, hotel services and catering, baking and confectionery. It also offers short courses in culinary art, craftsmanship, creative arts, sewing, decoration, automotive industry and health science. Short courses are also offered to the local community as community colleges are serving as lifelong learning hubs.  The courses are employment-based and graduates are ready to enter the job market upon graduation.

Established in 1964, Kuala Lumpur Industrial Training Institute (ILPKL) is one of the skills training institutes under the jurisdiction of the Manpower Department (JTM), Ministry of Human Resources, Malaysia. Starting off as a small training centre which ran courses for carpentry apprenticeship in some specific areas such as electrical works, fitting, printing and carpentry, it has grown rapidly to become an academic institution that offers numerous courses aimed at honing students’ skills in a range of vocational trades. The institute provides technical training programmes to meet the demand for skilled labour in Malaysia. With modern equipment and skilled instructors with vast experience, the institute has been able to successfully maintain its excellence in vocational skills training.

The Centre for Instructor and Advanced Skill Training (CIAST) serves as a leading institution in the development and enhancement of skills training in Malaysia. A training institute under the Ministry of Human Resources, CIAST is conducting various courses for students from other Malaysian vocational training institutes, for local industries and those from abroad.  The courses offered include instructor training at all levels for the public and private sector from Malaysia and beyond. Training programmes at CIAST are conducted by experienced instructors with various technical backgrounds. Through the support from Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) and international organisations, CIAST has proven its firm commitment to implementing and strengthening Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) at home and abroad. Some of the international programmes include as the Third Country Training Programme (TCTP), Malaysian Technical Cooperation Programme (MTCP) and ASEAN-Japan HRD Collaboration Programme.

Berjaya University College of Hospitality (BERJAYA UCH) received its licence to operate as an institution of higher learning on 15th November 2008. Situated in Berjaya Times Square within Kuala Lumpur’s Golden Triangle, the college offers programmes related to hospitality, tourism, culinary arts and business management from the foundation to postgraduate levels.  Students benefit from an integrated learning experience gained in hospitality-, tourism- and service-related companies within and around the college campus.
