"National Pride and Unity" enrichment programs in competing for designs and posters as promotion for the unity and pride of youth in the four states of the FSM.

Timeframe: March - September 2006

Objectives: 

  • For young people to demonstrate their pride by designing appropriate posters and banners for the unity and pride of youth across the nation
  • To promote and encourage greater cooperation to build strong relationships among youth and organizations leading to a strong sense of pride and national identity.
  • To resolve current issues affecting youth in the islands and the region by working together.

Activities: 

  • Youth in each state of the FSM  compete to design the best promotion materials or posters for use on the roadsides or sports events. The winner in each state will be given $100 as prize money.
  • The winner's design will be use in the state as a promotional board, banners and posters in the islands for the purpose of strengthening national pride and unity among youth during the upcoming summit.
  • The designs can focus on gender-inclusiveness and can be related to health issues including HIV/AIDS, TB in the FSM, suicide preventions, early and/or unwanted pregnancy preventive measures, training in the community with enrichment programs and partnerships among adult-youth, parent-child sharing etc...
