Since 1995, UNESCO’s Asia and Pacific Regional Bureau for Education in co-operation with the Korean Educational Development Institute (KEDI), have hosted annual policy seminars to discuss key issues affecting educational development in the region. 2015 Seminar details
Title - "Monitoring and Evaluation Systems, the Data Revolution, and Education 2030"
Dates - 26-28 November 2015
Location - Anantara Sathorn Bangkok Hotel
Participants - The seminar brought representatives of Ministries of Education and Education Research Institutes from 6 countries (Cambodia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal, Palau and Uzbekistan) to discuss Monitoring and Evaluation frameworks and indicators for the new Education 2030 agenda.
Purpose and Objectives - The UNESCO-KEDI 2015 Regional Policy Seminar aims to explore ways to strengthen M&E systems in the Asia-Pacific utilizing the data revolution. The objectives of the seminar and research are: 1) to review current M&E systems in the Asia-Pacific region, 2) examine how the data revolution can be used to effectively and efficiently improve M&E systems, and 3) provide policy recommendations for Asia-Pacific nations to improve M&E systems to implement the Education 2030 agenda.
