About ICT in Education

Established in 2002, the ICT in Education Programme at UNESCO Bangkok assists 48 Members States across the region (as of January 2015) to harness the potential of ICT in achieving quality education for all. The Programme is under the Asia Pacific Programme for Educational Innovation for Development (APEID), playing a catalyzing role in promoting innovative policy and practices in education.

The programme envisions cultivating a new culture of learning through mainstreaming ICT-enabled innovations in education at all levels.

Internship opportunity

Blazing the Trail in Educational Innovation for Development

The Asia-Pacific Educational Innovation for Development (APEID) unit in the UNESCO Asia-Pacific Regional Bureau for Education, Bangkok, Thailand, welcomes applications for internships.

Internship programme:

  • The programme aims to familiarize interns with the day-to-day work and special mandates of APEID, increase their understanding of UNESCO and introduce them to the multi-national work environment of the UN
  • The programme plans to enhance the interns’ capacities by combining their academic learning with practical research and by providing opportunities for interns to explore their own interests in a relevant field

Internship description:

  • Research on various impacts of ICT in education  
  • Education policy analysis (with/without ICT) and evidence-based education policy development for emerging countries
  • Teacher training for the effective ICT-pedagogy integration
  • Digital learning contents design and development

Internship eligibility:

  • This internship is open to applicants who are enrolled in postgraduate studies (Education Area studies, preferably teacher education) with specialization in an area that directly relates to UNESCO’s APEID mandates
  • Teaching experience an asset
  • Applicants must fulfil the three-month minimum internship period with maximum stay of six months

Please note this is an unpaid internship. Interns are to cover all their own expenses and obtain all necessary travel documents.
