Gender Advocacy

Advocacy is a tool for changing policies, programmes, or legislation using persuasive communication. It entails raising awareness and creating a supportive environment through the dissemination of information.

This information may be in the form of printed materials, such as “advocacy briefs” or “policy briefs,” intended to influence policy makers. The advocacy process is only complete when policy makers, concerned organizations, or communities implement the desired policy action.
