Keynote Speaker: Steven Duggan

Steven Duggan is a member of the Governing Board of the UNESCO Institute for Information Technologies in Education. An Irish national, he currently holds the position of Director, Worldwide Education Strategy for Microsoft Corporation, based in Seattle, USA. He serves on the executive board of the New Pedagogies for Deep Learning global partnership and as industry representative on a variety of educational bodies and partnerships, including the Matuto: Literacy For Life partnership and the Collaborative Assessment Alliance. A former Head of English, he is a passionate educator with a particular interest in the needs of underserved learners and communities. The writer and presenter of the documentary feature The First Mile (RGI Films, 2014)  his views on education have featured in press and radio and in a variety of publications, most recently as a contributor to ‘Towards A New End: New Pedagogies for Deep Learning’ (Michael Fullan, Maria Edgeworthy, 2014).
