Global Report 2015
RE|Shaping Cultural Policies
A decade promoting the Diversity of Cultural Expression for Development
The Global Report 2015 is conceived as a tool to monitor the implementation of the 2005 Convention and investigates how the Convention has influenced the reshaping of cultural policies around the world. It facilitates information sharing and knowledge production on the many ways in which the promotion of the diversity of cultural expressions is being pursued across the world.
The Report serves as a benchmarking and monitoring tool by analysing current trends; tracking progress and identifying the principal advances made, but also the difficulties, weaknesses and challenges faced by Parties and other relevant policy actors; providing examples of innovative policies and measures and setting in motion the process of building new indicators of progress in this domain.
This Report was made possible through funding from Sweden, within the framework of the project “Enhancing fundamental freedoms through the promotion of the diversity of cultural expressions.”
The report tracks progress on the following four Goals related to the 2005 Convention:
- Support sustainable systems of governance for culture
- Achieve a balanced flow of cultural goods and services and increase mobility of artists and cultural professionals
- Integrate culture in sustainable development frameworks
- Promote human rights and fundamental freedoms
