Corporate Communications Advisor

Biography

As corporate communications advisor, Emma Meurs defines key objectives for the internal & external communications strategy and develops and implements a multi-channel communication strategy. She avises (academic) employees on communication best practices and support them with (access to) appropriate channels, so they can promote their professional expertise and activities, including their projects and publications.

Emma's main responsibilities include producing UPDATE magazine and other corporate publications such as Highlights; overseeing the corporate website and make sure that content is of consistently high quality; and supporting academic staff members in drafting communication and dissemination plans for capacity development and research projects, including DUPC2 projects. 

Emma works for the Institute since November 2012 and has an MSc degree in communications and new media. She has worked as a communications professional for various non-profit organizations such as Greenpeace International and the Dutch business plan competition New Venture. In 2006 she completed an internship at the Dutch Permanent Delegation to UNESCO in Paris where she set up a new website for the delegation.
