An agreement was signed between the MMRA and UNESCO in March 1990 for cooperation in carrying out mutually agreed activities related to the development of human resources for the operation and maintenance of the Man Made River Project. This includes but is not limited to a) Preparation of management structure including assessment of manpower requirements, qualifications, administrative and financial regulations and procedures, b) Training of technical managers, senior engineers, junior engineers, technicians and operators, c) Establishment of documentation centre and water information system, d) Extending support to the Authority during operation of the project as and when required
