The UIS has launched a new questionnaire for Latin America and the Caribbean on statistics for adult education.
This questionnaire, available in English and Spanish, is part of a new UIS initiative to produce additional policy-relevant information for Latin America and the Caribbean. It is based on consultations with Ministers of Education within the framework of the Regional Project for Education in Latin America and the Caribbean (PRELAC) in order to better serve the monitoring needs of the region.
The questionnaire is designed to collect data on educational programmes that enhance basic literacy skills and provide primary and secondary educational opportunities for adults and youth. The resulting data and indicators will provide an internationally comparable perspective on adult and youth educational programmes in the region.
The data collected from this questionnaire will be published in a range of international publications and various UIS reports. The data will also be used to update UNESCO’s international database, which can be accessed online at the UIS Data Centre. The deadline for returning the completed questionnaire is 31 October 2011.
Readers can view the questionnaire in either English or Spanish.
