Biography
Seyedabdolhossein (Abdi) Mehvar was born in Tehran, Iran in 1983. He obtained his Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering in 2007 in Iran and then he worked as a supervisor engineer for a consultancy company in Tehran. Later he joined to the double degree program of ''Saxion University of Applied Sciences'' in Enschede, the Netherlands and received a second bachelor degree in Civil Engineering in 2011.
Following his professional interest, Abdi moved to Delft in 2012 and worked at the ''Coastal Engineering'' Group of UNESCO-IHE for a research program on developing a model using D-Flow FM software for ''CASCaDE'' research project funded by USGS.
Abdi graduated with a MSc. in ''Coastal Engineering and Port Development'' from UNESCO-IHE in 2014 and then, he continued working with EU ''RiscKit'' project team and further developed his research on the validation of XBeach model for wave overtopping discharge and run-up level, with collaboration of Deltares in Delft.
He currently works as a PhD researcher in the ''Coastal Engineering'' Group of UNESCO-IHE.
His current research interests include coastal zone management, climate change impacts on coasts, economic valuation of coastal ecosystems, coastal hazard and its environmental risk assessment.
