Journalists and educators from Arab countries attended a workshop on preparing media material to fight HIV/AIDS.
The workshop on Preparing and Developing Media Material for Health Awareness and Fighting against HIV/AIDS took place in Sanaa, Yemen, from 28 to 30 May 2007.

It was jointly organized by the UNESCO Office in Beirut, the Yemeni National Commission for UNESCO and the Yemeni Ministry of Health, in the framework of health awareness and access to information campaigns.

The workshop had the following objectives:
  • equipping the participants with techniques to develop material for newspapers, radio and TV on health awareness;
  • teaching them how to locate proper information sources on HIV/AIDS;
  • raising their editorial skills;
  • developing networking in order to share available sources of information.
