UWEM gives a holistic approach to urban water systems in this ever evolving water cycle.

Sub-Saharan Africa
Zimbabwe Sub-Saharan Africa

What made you decide to study this particular programme?
UWEM gives a holistic approach to urban water systems in this ever evolving water cycle. It enables one to appreciate water as an engineer for water supply and wastewater with adequate managerial capabilities for the environment, assets and personnel.

Can you say something about studying in Delft/the Netherlands? (Cultural and social experiences)
It allows students to experience a new way of education not only in the multi expert way delivered by IHE but also in a way of sharing experiences with international colleagues. A multi cultural community has a lot to teach in life's experiences and helps to create contacts and connections in almost all continents. This is important for a stable career.

What kind of professional background do you need to succeed in this programme?
An engineering background is an advantage but also environmental and water scientists perform equally well.

Why should new students/water professional choose this programme?
This programme integrates water supply and wastewater issues and has an added advantage of managerial exposure. It is an all encompassing programme when it comes to the whole urban water cycle. The ability to use modern software in modeling urban water systems allows for a quicker way to find solutions for problems which are likely to escalate especially in developing countries due to an expected exponential growth in urban populations.

Do you have any advice for new students?
It is always good to be prepared to learn new things and share your experiences and knowledge with others.

What are you going to do once back home?
I will advise the responsible people and take action where and when i can but above all, I will register a consultancy on urban water systems engineering and management.
