Promoting freedom of expression in Bangladesh

The project will promote freedom of expression through training sessions and the UNESCO/Bangladeshi Journalism Award 1. Media professionals/Journalist training on Safety Mechanism, through skill development young Journalist will be empowered in new reporting techniques of whom 25% are women. A selected group of print and electronic media journalists will be trained. 2. Raising awareness of freedom and expression and press freedom among public through UNESCO Journalism Award Programme, awareness will be raised through holding the annual UNESCO Bangladesh Journalism Award. This is a regular event of UNESCO CI of Dhaka Office. The award is given in commemoration of the World Press Freedom Day, held on 3 May.
