Digitization of Parchments of the Lithuanian Academy of Sciences

Contributing to enriching the public domain of information
Within the framework of UNESCO's strategy to promote universal access to public domain information for the purpose of education, science and culture and the Organization's programme activities in support of these orientations, notably the project for the establishment of the "UNESCO/IFLA/ICA Guidelines for Digitization Projects for Collections and Holdings in the Public Domain", carry out a digitization project of parchments preserved at the Manuscript Department of the Library of the Lithuanian Academy of Sciences and provide offline and online access to the image archive.

In carrying out the project, the Lithuanian Academy of Sciences shall test the "UNESCO/IFLA/ICA Guidelines for Digitization Projects" using the protocol established in the draft of the Guidelines and report thereon on a regular basis.
