For the first time since last year’s historic adoption of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and its 17 goals, countries will meet in New York at the High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development from 11-20 July.
The Secretary-General informed the General Assembly of his intention to appoint Erik Solheim of Norway as the new Executive Director of the UN Environment Programme.
At this press briefing, civil society leaders from a wide sector of stakeholders will react to the signing, report on what’s been happening since December, and discuss steps forward for climate action.
The press briefing will highlight how the Paris Climate Agreement has already begun to impact private sector operations and investments.
