Morphological developments in San Pablo Bay/ San Francisco Bay

  • Donor: USGS Pasific Science Drive

This project aims to hindcast morphodynamic developments that have taken place over the past 150 years in the San Francisco Bay/Delta system. We will compare model results with a unique data set covering 30 year interval bathymetric measurements. We will use optimized model parameter settings to predict future developments in the system under different scenarios of climate change and water management. Project results will contribute to a better understanding on how process-based morphodynamic models perform in data scarce environments.
