The ECOTOOLS project was a multidisciplinary research effort dedicated to developing workable tools and strategies for the sustainable use of natural ecosystem products. The methodological developments in the study, understanding of wetland functioning and values, provided tools for pursuing and improving “social equity” and inter-temporal equity of the wetland populations.
