5-day course on "Water Treatment Plant Operation and Maintenance", in two locations (one in Baku and one in Shirvan). The main objective of this course is to familiarize the participants with the basic concepts and operation and maintenance aspects of selected and most commonly used conventional water treatment processes namely, coagulation/flocculation, sedimentation and filtration. On completion of this course, the participants will (i) learn about treatment requirements for different water sources to meet the relevant water quality standards and guidelines, (ii) understand the basic functions of different conventional water treatment processes and their suitability and limitations, and (iii) know about the basics of operation and maintenance of coagulation/flocculation, sedimentation and filtration processes.
