What made you decide to study this particular programme?
Developing countries face common problems due to the transitions they are subjected to, which in most cases lead to poor water and sanitation services for the communities. These problems demand sustainable water and sanitation solutions that I consider an interesting part of this programme.
Can you say something about studying in Delft/the Netherlands? (Cultural and social experiences)
Well, "Hospitality is character". So far so good, apart from nature conditions. I have had more wonderful moments in Netherlands than I expected before, with different cultured people.
What kind of professional background do you need to succeed in this programme?
It is only the willingness to understand and positive attitude that is required. Otherwise with slight modification in the programme content, any background can manage.
Why should new students/water professional choose this programme?
When one critically analyses the world projections and forecasts the current professionals have managed to put on record through practical and theoretical understanding, especially climate change and population growth rates, there is need for the world to put up preventive measures or measures that will neutralize the future problems. I believe, professionals in this programme have a great potential contribution towards this.
Do you have any advice for new students?
Studying at UNESCO-IHE has a special setting that trains someone to be innovative. They should therefore not only target on acquiring the academic paper, but also aim at acquiring the knowledge of innovations.
What are you going to do once back home?
I hope to contribute towards upgrading living conditions of the people in a sustainable manner.
