Training will strengthen the environment for press freedom, journalistic safety and self-regulation for on-line and off-line media.

Print and online journalists of national and regional media outlets of Kyzylorda and Semey regions will gain skills and knowledge on legal security of access to the information.

Resource Handbook will be developed for distribution across the regions of Kazakhstan. Dissemination and presentation efforts will also target different groups, including teachers and students of the Faculty of Journalism (at least 10 higher education institutions) for further implementation within the educational process.

Legal Media Cente(LMC) established in 2004 in Kostanai city based on the Representative office of the Adil Soz Foundation. In 2008, the organization moved to Astana in order to expand the scope of its activities. The LMC is a member of the Media Alliance of Kazakhstan, as well as member of the "20 BAP" Coalition (Article 20 of Kazakh Constitution) and the Coordination and Advisory Body under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan.

This training is devoted to the International Day to End Impunity for Crimes against Journalists (2 November).
