High Level Panel on Water and the SDGs

On 22 and 23 May, the representatives to the leaders of the High Level Panel on Water in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) met in Rotterdam. The representatives discussed the actions required to transform global approach to water and development. Mark Rutte, Prime Minister of the Netherlands welcomed them.

The joint United Nations and World Bank Group High Level Panel on Water was launched at the World Economic Forum in Davos on 21 January 2016. The panel, comprised of 10 heads of state, aim to mobilize effective actions to accelerate the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goal 6 (SDG6), which focuses on ensuring the availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all. 

UNESCO-IHE is part of the team providing support to the Dutch government representative for water, Henk Ovink, Special Envoy for International Water Affairs Kingdom of The Netherlands, for the High Level Panel.
