Third MOWCAP Meeting – Canberra, Australia, 17-18 February 2008

Full meetings of MOWCAP are held at approximately two year intervals.

After the second meeting in Manila in November 2005, the Third MOWCAP meeting was held in Canberra, Australia from 17 to 18 February 2008 and hosted by the National Library of Australia. The meeting made recommendations on the first set of nominations for inscription to the Regional MOW Register.

Interim African MoW Regional Committee Meeting, Tshwane, South Africa, 30-31 January 2008

An Interim Committee for Africa was created during a meeting in Pretoria that preceded the 8th MoW International Advisory Committee. African States present adopted the “Tshwane Minute” which gives guidance on how African governments need to address and promote the proper preservation of documentary heritage.

The African Regional Committee for the Memory of the World (ARCMOW)held its first meeting on 30 and 31 January 2008 in Tshwane (Pretoria), Republic of South Africa.
