The UIS has released new data on the human and financial resources devoted to research and experimental development (R&D) for 152 countries and territories.
The data were collected through the Institute’s survey on statistics of research and developmental (R&D), which is conducted every two years.
Data for countries that are members of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), and the European Union are collected from the OECD and Eurostat (the statistical office of the European Union) directly.
In addition, the UIS has data-sharing agreements with RICYT (the Latin American Network on Science and Technology Indicators) and with the African Union (AU) NEPAD Planning and Coordinating Agency (NPCA).
Full results of the survey can be accessed at the UIS Data Centre.
The next R&D data release is expected in December 2013, which will include the updated data from African countries, which were collected through the African Science, Technology and Innovation Indicators (ASTII) Initiative by the AU/NPCA.
