The UIS launches biennial survey on innovation statistics
The 2015 questionnaire collects the most recent statistics on innovation within the manufacturing industry from 162 countries.
Building on the first round of the survey conducted in 65 countries in 2013, the UIS Survey of Innovation Statistics is designed to meet the growing need for internationally comparable data on innovation in the manufacturing sector – an important driver of growth – while reflecting the priorities and contexts of countries at different stages of development.
These data will be used to inform national and international policies and will be published in a range of international reports, including the UNESCO Science Report.
The data will also be added to the UIS global database of innovation statistics, which includes data from Eurostat countries.
Officials responsible for reporting innovation data to the UIS are invited to download and complete the electronic questionnaire. (Adobe Acrobat Reader 8 or higher is required to access and complete the document.)
The UIS works closely with its partners to collect innovation data, including the African Science, Technology and Innovation Indicators (ASTII) Initiative by the African Union (AU/NPCA), Eurostat (Statistical Office of the European Union), the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and the Ibero-American Network of Science and Technology Indicators (RICYT).
