Updated R&D statistics now available
The most recent R&D statistics are now available in the UIS Data Centre, including data and indicators for 156 countries and territories. Key indicators include the human and financial resources devoted to R&D.
This update is based on new statistics collected from UIS partners, notably the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), Eurostat (Statistical Office of the European Union), the Ibero-American Network of Science and Technology Indicators (RICYT) and the African Science, Technology and Innovation Indicators (ASTII) Initiative by the AU/NPCA.
The UIS works closely with these partners to guarantee alignment between their respective surveys. This harmonization is essential to ensure that data can be compared across countries in order to gain a global perspective on science and technology.
The UIS R&D statistics survey is conducted on a biennial basis and the 2014 survey has just been launched. The next R&D data release is expected in May 2015.
