Chinyere Ljomah, founder and project officer of the Youth Repositioning Foundation in Nigeria, came across the MultiMedia Training Kit (MMTK) whilst browsing the UNESCO website. Aided by her background in mass communication, she was inspired to use the training kit in her seminars. “The MMTK was very useful to me in packaging my workshops and seminars and also evaluating the effectiveness of these programmes”, she explained.

Koïchiro Matsuura, the Director-General of UNESCO, today condemned the murder in Iraq of Raeda Mohammed Wageh Wazzan, a journalist at the regional public television station Iraqiya, voicing outrage at a crime against an innocent person and an unacceptable attack on the basic human right of freedom of expression.

Developed with UNESCO's CDS/ISIS for Windows (WINISIS) software, the database of the Historical Archives of the Argentinean Chamber of Deputies keeps the records of proceedings, which represent the parliamentary history of the country. Started in 1999, the database covers now the period from 1862-1914 and will be extended to 1976.
