Experts meet in Bangkok to prepare media resource kit on Education for Sustainable Development
An expert meeting, co-organized by UNESCO's Education and Communication/Information Sectors in cooperation with the Bangkok office, is being held in Bangkok from 7 to 9 December 2005 to develop a media resource and training kit on Education for Sustainable Development (ESD).
In the context of the United Nations Decade of Education for sustainable development, this meeting will initiate a mapping of existing resources and training materials to serve as a baseline for the creation of an ESD media resource and training kit. The mapping exercise forms the basis of a debate by a panel of experts who will identify strengths and weaknesses of existing resources and establish the content outline, required training methodology and distribution platform for the upcoming kit.

ESD media resource and training kit attempts to respond to diverse sustainable development challenges by debating improvements significant to media in sustainable development. It seeks to contribute to developing public awareness and understanding of sustainability, as outlined in Chapter 36 of the United Nations Agenda 21.
