UNESCO online special “Towards Democracy in Iraq” now in Arabic

The UNESCO Special Focus “Towards Democracy in Iraq”, a website to support UNESCO’s action for human rights and freedom of expression in Iraq, is now available on the in Arabic in addition to English and French.
A joint project of UNESCO’s Communication and Information (CI) and Social and Human Science (SHS) Sectors, “Towards Democracy in Iraq” promotes freedom of expression and freedom of the press as basic human rights, and fosters media independence and pluralism as prerequisites for democracy by providing advisory services on media legislation and policy.
The website is one of UNESCO's first to offer a variety of content in the Arabic language. Availability in Arabic should make this a helpful resource for users throughout the Arabic speaking world.
