Based on recent pilot tests in selected countries, the UIS is in the process of developing two new surveys in the fields of: broadcast, print and digital media; and the use of information and communication technologies (ICT) in education. Once complete, the UIS will extend the data collections to other countries and regions.
The aim is to collect policy-relevant and internationally comparable data without significantly increasing the response burden for national statisticians.
