Kazakhstan contributes US$ 50,000 to advance UNESCO’s work for the International Decade for the Rapprochement of Cultures

-

UNESCO has received a new contribution of USD 50,000 from the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan in support of the Action Plan for the International Decade for the Rapprochement of Cultures (2013-2022).

This is the fourth contribution from Kazakhstan to the Special Account of this Decade. Relevant highlights of activities undertaken thus far are contained in the Report on the implementation of the  Decade, presented to the Executive Board of UNESCO at its 197th session (Document 197 EX/9).

This Decade also contributes to the debates of the General Assembly of the United Nation, under its agenda item on Culture of Peace, through the follow-up to resolutions on “Promoting interreligious and intercultural dialogue, understanding and cooperation for peace”.
