To achieve its mission of reducing the gap of unequal development among the NOCs and offering opportunities of development for the huge athletic potential existing in developing countries, ANOC provides scholarships for athletes and coaches, organizes technical courses and courses for sport administrators. ANOC and the NOCs contribute to the dissemination of the Olympic ideals through the National Olympic Academies and their representatives at the sessions of the International Olympic Academy. ANOC and the NOCs also contribute to developing Sport for All by patronising, or organizing national events and participating in the international Sport for All Congresses.

The governing bodies of ANOC are the General Assembly and the Executive Council: The supreme governing body is the General Assembly, which is composed of the representatives of all National Olympic Committees and it meets once a year. Extraordinary General Assembly can also be convened. Every four years the Ordinary General elects the President, the Senior Vice President and other members of the Executive Council. The Executive Council meets at least twice each year and is composed of the President; 5 Vice Presidents representing each Continent, one of whom is elected as the Senior Vice President; 3 members elected from the Olympic Committee of each Continent; 5 female members from each Continent appointed by the President in consultation with the Vice President of the Continent; 5 additional members always one from each continent. In appointing these members the President has regard to the skill, competencies, experience, gender balance and diversity of the Executive Council as a whole; the Secretary General, ex officio, as a non-voting member; the Chairs of the Athletes, Finance and Juridical Commissions as well as the Chairs of such other Commissions decided by the Executive Council, all of whom are ex officio, non-voting members.

Ecological support of the projects, carried out by the Foundation’s members (“Gazprom” OJSC, its branch organizations, etc.), regarding the requirements of the Espoo Convention and the Aarhus Convention; implementation of Vernadsky foundation projects and programmes (National Ecological Award, “Ecological Culture. Peace and harmony” International project, “Eco Erudite” School Olympiad, scholarship and grant programmes, etc.); international activities for the sake of popularization and evolution of V.I.Vernadsky’s scientific heritage; international activities in the sphere of education for sustainable development; education and publishing activities; organization of environmental events.

The General Meeting of Members of the Foundation is the highest management body which meets as often as necessary, but at least once a year. The President of the Foundation acts as the executive body of the foundation in-between General Meetings and represents the Foundation. The Executive Committee is the permanent collegial body, conducting scientific and methodical management of the Foundation’s activity. The Board of Trustees supervises the Foundation’s activity and controls decision-making and execution by other bodes of the Foundation, the Foundation’s draft on funds and abidance of legislation, as well as popularizes the Foundation’s goals.

Shamaa provides specialists and stakeholders free access to the educational studies produced in the Arab countries, and those available through international organizations with whom Shamaa has signed agreements and makes all studies available on internet. Shamaa also accepts submissions by researcher on education in the Arab countries produced worldwide. It indexes peer-refereed articles, Master thesis and PhD dissertations, books, reports and conference proceeding starting from 2007 in Arabic, English and French languages. The database includes bibliographic information, abstracts and, when available, the full text of educational studies.

A Board consisting of 13 members from different Arab countries. Executive Committee consisting of 4 members. Executive Director. Technical staff consisting of 3 persons. Associates consisting of: a) field collaborators in different Arab countries; b) consultants in various fields.

Promotion and defense of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) and other international instruments; development of innovative programmes in order to transform the lives of people with disabilities in Africa and Asia through education, livelihoods and cross-cutting support; organization of edge campaigns to empower people with disabilities to bring about lasting change.

Annual General Meeting. Each member of the Board has right to one vote. The Board of Trustees is legally responsible for the general control and management of the administration of the charity. The Management Board is responsible for the day to day running of our charity.

According to its Strategy for 2012-2017 AAI implements activities in the following areas: promote sustainable agriculture and control over natural resources for people living in poverty; advance the political influence of people living in poverty to hold governments and corporates accountable; improve the quality of public education for all children and support youth to become drivers of change towards a poverty-free planet; build the resilience of people living in poverty to conflicts and disasters and respond to disasters with people-centred, rights-based alternatives; ensure that women and girls can break the cycle of poverty and violence, build economic alternatives and claim control over their bodies. In addition, AAI conducts policy research and advocacy to ensure that its programme learning is used as an input as a policy makers’ decision making processes.

AAI has three mains organs: The Assembly of the Association comprising the Affiliate and Associate Members. It has one member in each country of its presence. The Assembly meets once a year at the Annual General Meeting and elects the in the Assembly Convener. The International Board is vested with the responsibility for the governance of the Association. It shall consist of at least seven and at most thirteen natural persons including the Chair, Treasurer and Vice Chair. The International Secretariat is responsible for the day to day running of the affairs of the Association subject to the general and special direction of the International Board, the provisions of the Constitution and the Governance Manual. It shall be led by the Chief Executive appointed by the International Board.

The General Assembly meets annually and includes all the members of the organization. It elects yearly a Board of Directors. The Board of Directors is composed of five to fifteen members and is renewable by third every year. It elects the Bureau. The Bureau is composed of a President, one or more Vice-Presidents, a Secretary and a Treasurer. The Scientific Committee is composed of personalities recognized for their competence and it is chosen by the Board of Directors.

Established in 1953, the ISIC card is currently issued to students in 133 countries. The ISIC card is not exclusive. All bona fide full time students over the age of 12, regardless of their nationality, race, gender, sexual orientation, political persuasion or religion can access an ISIC card. Through the ISIC card students gain preferential and discounted access to products, services and experiences relevant to all areas of student life, consequently helping to save students money. Through the wide range of opportunities available to cardholders, the ISIC Association aims to play a supporting role in improving intercultural understanding, increasing educational opportunities and facilitating student life across the world. The ISIC Association partners with universities, academic institutions, local and national governments, intergovernmental agencies, and other non-governmental organizations in order to support its mission and activities. Complementary to the ISIC card, the ISIC Association also manages the International Youth Travel Card (IYTC) and International Teacher Identity Card (ITIC) to further encourage intercultural exchange and mobility internationally.

The Board of the Association has responsibility for maintaining the necessary arrangements, contractual or otherwise, to ensure the effective production, distribution of the ISIC and for ensuring the operation of the project. The member of the Board are elected at the Annual General Meeting of members from executives or non-executives of a Licensed Authority.

The majority of AFS programs are 10-month long programs for youth ages 15 to 18 years in which they live in a foreign country with host families and attend local schools while also developing intercultural learning through structured experiential learning methods. AFS also offers educational intercultural experience for adults through programs that involve community service or voluntary work. AFS also offers a variety of shorter-term exchange programming that is often content-specific, such as intensive culture and language programs, intercultural summer schools, etc. AFS members collaborate with local schools and others in the community to provide public workshop, teacher trainings, symposia and other events that focus on diversity, intercultural communication and global education. Finally, AFS runs many trainings about intercultural learning, organizational development, etc. that are open to AFS volunteers and staff worldwide.

The AFS network is governed by a democratically elected Board. The AFS General Assembly meets once a year for the election of the Board. The leadership is in hands of the AFS International Management which provides services to all AFS members.

FOUNDATION AND SIMILAR INSTITUTION

MiSK pursues its objectives by both establishing programs and partnering with local and global organizations in several fields. For example: Partnership with the Khan Academy. MiSK provides translation of videos of recorded Khan Academy lessons, allowing for self-paced, internet-based classes on a range of topics. Establishment of the MiSK School, which will open its doors in September 2016. The MiSK School has the stated goal of equipping students to chart their own unique paths in serving and leading society. Partnership with Harvard University. This partnership allows the Foundation to have representative for youth leadership programmes in the Middle East and to send attendees to university leadership-development programmes.

The Founder is the Prince Mohammed Bin Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud. He appoints the administrative bodies of the foundation: The Board of Directors manages the Foundation and should be comprised of no less than five members. The Board meets at least once a year; Secretary-General; Chief Executive Officer.

To guarantee the achievement of its objectives, the COMEP: sponsors meetings, workshops, congresses, conferences, symposia and many other academic activities related to educational issues; fosters the exchange of educational administrators, institutions, teachers, and students among countries, in order to carry out studies and research aimed to strengthening international integration; promotes the exchange of knowledge and skills, plans and programs, methodologies, technologies and educational experiences in general, as well as the exchange of rules and regulations concerning these items, by providing proposals and information to national education systems; fosters the establishment of national legislation aimed to ensuring the Integration of institutions of private education in every country; supports, publishes and implements prevention and public-service campaigns connected to the issues of education and culture.

The General Assembly comprises all members of the Confederation organized into 4 continental groups (Africa, Asia, Europe and Southwest Pacific) and 2 sub-groups (Latin America and North America). The GA meets at least once a year to define the general guidelines for COMEP’s activities. The Managing Board consists of the president, the vice-presidents and the directors, representatives from each-continent or sub-area, the secretary-general and the treasurer. The MB handles the affairs of the Confederation in accordance with the powers granted by the GA. The Executive Board consists of the president, at least three vice-presidents, the secretary-general and the treasurer. The EX takes all necessary measures to execute the decisions of the MB and of the GA.
