Meeting of the Bureau of the MOST Intergovernmental Council
The next meeting of the Bureau of the Intergovernmental Council (IGC) of UNESCO's Management of Social Transformations (MOST) Programme will take place in Room XII at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris, on 15 and 16 September 2016.
It will be its first meeting following the endorsement by the 199th session of UNESCO's Executive Board of the comprehensive MOST Strategy in April 2016.
The main purpose of the meeting, organized by the MOST Secretariat, will be – as per the decision of the IGC Bureau meeting in January – to consider the 2016-2021 Action Plan for Implementation of the MOST Strategy, preliminary proposals for the revision of the Statutes and Rules of Procedure, and preliminary proposals for a possible MOST initiative on the background causes, processes and social implications of migration.
The meeting will gather the President of the MOST IGC, H.E. Hon. Dato’Sri Rohani Abdul Karim, Minister of Women, Family and Community Development of Malaysia; the six Vice-Presidents and the Rapporteur of the Bureau; and the MOST Secretariat.
As per the decision of the IGC Bureau meeting in January 2016, all IGC Member States are invited to attend the meeting in their capacity as observers.
