Why was the event conceptualized?
Ultimately, the “What are you doing for peace?” campaign is about people. It was created from the perspective that the United Nation’s workforce is the Organization’s greatest asset. The campaign was born out of the UN’s ongoing need to attract and retain a diverse pool of suitably qualified and experienced candidates who aspire to a multitude of UN career options, especially in the field.

The aerial photo event also celebrated the launch of a Careers e-Library. This online resource comprises informational leaflets on 24 occupational groups – covering career options from Aviation, to Public Information, to Logistics. All leaflets feature a range of profiles who reflect the diversity of the UN’s global staff population, with a particular focus on women. This versatile approach ensured a light environmental footprint and comprises leaflets in English and French.
