UNESCO eAtlas for Education 2030
The eAtlas for Education 2030 brings together all available data to monitor the Sustainable Development Goal on education (SDG 4). This ground-breaking initiative covers a wide range of issues about access to education, the quality of the education on offer and the results for children and young people. Through a series of interactive maps, it presents the global and thematic indicators for each SDG 4 target as well as ‘placeholders’ for indicators not yet available. Maps present key findings related to learning, equity and quality of education, as well as gender disparities, the relevance of education, the safety of the school environment, and the number of adults who are enrolled in primary education programmes. Available in English and Spanish.
UNESCO eAtlas of Gender Inequality in Education
The eAtlas of Gender Inequality in Education presents a wide range of sex-disaggregated data for all levels of education. Updated with the latest available data, the eAtlas lets readers explore the educational pathways of girls and boys in more than 200 countries and territories. The maps and ranking tables can also be used to evaluate the extent to which educational disparities between the sexes are changing over time. These data provide a critical benchmark for measuring equity as pledged by the Sustainable Development Goal for Education (SDG 4). Available in English, French and Spanish
UNESCO eAtlas of Out-of-School Children
The eAtlas of Out-of-School Children provides data and analysis on the millions of children of primary and lower secondary school age who are being denied their right to education. Indicators are disaggregated by sex to better evaluate educational inequalities faced by girls and boys. Facts and figures, as well as links to additional resources put the most relevant and up-to-date information at your fingertips. Available in English, French and Spanish.
UNESCO eAtlas of Literacy
Despite significant improvements in literacy rates globally, today there are still 757 million adults and 115 million youths who cannot read or write a simple sentence – two-thirds of whom are women. To shed light on the data, the eAtlas of Literacy illustrates the disparities among adults, youth and the elderly, disaggregated by sex, as well as an in-depth look at the gender gap that persists between literacy rates for men and women. Available in English, French and Spanish.
