Daniel Vázquez Bado

In my class there were people from about 20 different countries and there was always a case study that was represented by a student. It was marvelous.

Latin America and the Caribbean
Paraguay Latin America and the Caribbean

What have been the Highlights?
So much is exciting, new and though difficult the professors explain everything very well. It is a complex area of study as we have agreed but they make it simple to understand and for me to comprehend the fundamentals.

How did you get to come here?
I received an invitation but it was for a different course. (Sanitary engineering) It was a half scholarship but it was not my area of expertise or of interest so I did some investigation and found that hydroinformatics was offered and this was of interest.

How has the course helped your career?
I have been always interested to contribute for the development of my country and as hydroinformaticians we strive to understand the social processes by which technologies are brought into use, since we face harsh problems of water management I want to apply all I have learned and especially use it for social improvement back in my country. I will therefore return to Paraguay with that objective and illusion.

How did you find the NL and Delft?
I especially enjoyed the summer period here; it was fantastic but I would not recommend anyone that loves the sun to come here for the winter. Everyone has been very friendly and helpful and the English language is so wide spread. I have cycled in the last 6 months more than in my entire life.

Would you recommend UNESCO IHE ?
Certainly, you must learn to apply science and knowledge and this is what I have learned to do here and I would recommend the same thing to others. UNESCO IHE stands out as being well known with the best instructors. In my class there were people from about 20 different countries and there was always a case study that was represented by a student. It was marvellous.
